Driver Window Question

Hello all,

A little while back a mentally disabled person decided to rampage in the RV storage facility I park my bus. I have replaced all of the lights, mirrors, and lenses that were smashed. The main thing that I haven't been able to find replacement info on is the driver window that was smashed.

It is a sliding driver window as I have seen most busses have. My bus is a 96 International Thomas. He only smashed one section on the outside pane. I am wondering if the best approach is to try to disassemble the window and replace the single pane, or use apparently terrible googling skills to find a whole new window?

Or maybe there are other better ideas out there I have overlooked out of frustration with my local PD doing bubkiss about this incident.

Also sorry for the sprinkle of salt, just frustrated. All help is appreciated!

There was a thread here on bus junk yards recently. One was in GA.

Give Thomas a call, I've found them to be helpful looking up parts. Additionally the catalog you are looking for is the Accessories catalog.

Have you ever wanted to have a different drivers window? If so, then here's your opportunity to put in what you want. Something to consider.

I would think someone inserted that glass in there originally, so why can't someone do it again. I'm betting a local glass shop could help tell you how, or an auto-glass shop could actually do it.

I know all our school district just take the buses to the local Speedy auto-glass.

Here's a link to Lippert (hate this company, but I'll refer it for another skoolie) who has windows for school buses.

Hope this helps.

driver windows are removable from the bus and the sashes can be dissaembled.. if its a double pane driver window things are a little trickier, if its a single pane any auto glass place can put a new one in the sash
