DT466 2006 Part missing

Need some help I'm looking at a bus with a DT466 253K miles, 2006, Lions like it is missing a bracket above the alternator. Im trying to find pics of a complete engine to see what was changed. I have not figured out how to post my pics just yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Funny timing on this question… I just finished doing an inframe on my 2006 RE300; Dt466e, did the first start today and…. She runs again !!!

The bracket above my alternator is the dual a/c bracket.

I have attached a pic.
Sorry for the sideways pic, uploaded from my iPad…and we don’t get along well!

I also have the data sheet on the bracket, in case you need it.

What I find interesting is that your RE bus has a horton fan clutch on it.

is that a bracketry-systems bracket? it looks like the kit they use for the dual A/C.. uses a pulley mounted onto the front of the crank pulley which is selectable based on the RPM range of the engine and type of compressor.. for dual TM-16 / sanden SD7's they run an overdrive crank pulley for engines running below 2600 RPM as it provides better cooling at idle..

Is a Horton fan clutch good or bad?

I have no idea if this is a “bracketed-systems bracket”.
I did call the Carrier service number that was on the original intsall decal pasted in the engine compartment and they sent me this data sheet on the bracket.
I had a tough time finding the correct serpentine belt so I can use again the a/c system.

For those who need to know, the serpentine belt needs to be 123 inches, 6pk works best for me.

By golly I think that's it. The bracket in your drawing looks like the imprint I see on the engine in question, appears to be the same bolt pattern. I only have the one pic to compare. I first thought it might have something with the coolant overfill tank. I'm not seeing it in my photo either. Where is your overfill tank located? Im gonna go look at this bus tomorrow. The only things I know to check first off would be blow by at the dip stick tube and see if there is any smoke or antifreeze odors there or at the exhaust. Wish me luck. I will check out your build and see it I can learn something. Thanks to you!

The coolant bottle is usually up against the rear wall, just above and to the side of the radiator.
If your looking at a new bus to buy, don’t forget to pull the dipstick first, before you start it up. If the oil is milky, like a milkshake color, run, don’t walk, away !

Also, Kentucky busses are notorious for rust so get underneath it with a flashlight and look real good, especially at the clips that hold the body to the frame.

Rust Never Sleeps! Thanks, I will be sure to look closely for the clips. Hoping the bus will have the 77 inch head clearance. This is why I am looking for a bus in this vintage.

I may have one of those brackets. If you need it let me know and I will look for it.

Neither really. It's just odd to see a fan clutch on an RE bus that doesn't have that type of fan.

Unless that's just an idler pulley, I can't tell from the picture, but the studs/nuts indicate otherwise.

I just took a look at the build sheet, this is what I found.

12 0012THT FAN DRIVE 2-SPD HORTON DRIVEMASTER

It has an air line going to it...and the build sheet says it is a 2 speed.

I'm gonna guess and say that this is a good fan clutch ???

Yeah, it's just odd that they spec'd a fan clutch when it's not going to drive a fan.

Nothing to worry about or be concerned with.
