DT466e question about oil

Hi everyone! I recently purchased a 40-foot International RE3000 with a 7.6L Navistar DT466e Diesel engine and an automatic Allison MD3060 transmission. I drove it 2400 miles to get it home, and I noticed that the bus chugs through the oil really, really quickly. I know it's a HEUI injector system, but to my knowledge, it should last at least 500ish miles before needing to have oil added. Mine goes about 250-300 miles before needing more oil.

The bus has no leakage anywhere on the ground, so I'm wondering if the oil could be leaking into the engine or something? Is that possible? The smoke is clear to the oil isn't burning. I'm really confused by this.

I appreciate any help in advance! Thank you so much!

any smoke out the tail pipe while driving?

If so, what color?

Also, how does the blow by tube look, wet/dry???
Smoke - light or heavy?

Any wet oily spots on the engine itself?

How much oil are you using? are you filling it while level and making sure not to over-fill?

is there oil being blown out by the Air-dryer? when you drain your air tanks do you get lots of oil out?

ive seen a bad air-brake compressor eat the oil up and pumps it into the tanks or air dryer where the dryer spits a ton of it out on purge..
