Electric door lock

I'm building an electric door lock. Would those of you who know about wiring diagrams look at this and tell me if it will work? I got a good deal on a linear actuator, but it doesn't have any limit switches. I also have a key operated on-off-on switch. Motor switches directions by switching wires pos to neg.

Re: Electric door lock

Circuits look good both ways.
If you have an old microwave laying around it's a good source for those switches. Everyone I've seen has two for the door interlock and they both usually have long metal "paddles" attached to activate them.

Re: Electric door lock

I have a linear accuator to open + close my door. I dont have limit switches. When it loads or comes to its end-it will just click + stop without any issues. just a thought.

Re: Electric door lock

I used to work in aftermarket car electronics installation. What you have in your diagram is a basic reversing polarity door lock circuit. You can achieve this circuit without a lot of wiring mess by using a relay pack designed for this purpose.
Found an example of the one I used to use all of the time - http://www.lesscoelectronics.com/DEI_45 ... p/451m.htm

Good luck and have fun with it!

Re: Electric door lock

No problem. I used to have a bunch of them laying around, but not sure if any of them are left :/
If I could find one I'd probably send it to you, making the price even more right ;)
