Esurance Success (in CA)

I heard bad things about esurance, and heck, most insurance companies on this forum, but I already had them so I tried anyway. I have a 2009 E-450 cutaway (StarTrans shuttle bus) that I said I'm converting. I've done nothing to update the title or anything

Helpful lady says "we usually don't cover those vehicles so let me create a new VIN for you. Ok you're now a 2001 Ford Ranger, just ignore that if you see it, you're covered as the E-450. You're good to go. "

It was that simple. I'm paying less than my prius. Seems like I got a sweet deal. Took all of 15 minutes.

Note: Doesn't work online. Says invalid VIN.

I would be afraid that if you were in a collision, you would be screwed. Your policy must show the vehicle VIN on it.
