FN DN Comparison

Is there any aero fuel mileage advantage to a dog nose over a flat nose? Is the trade off interior room?

As far as I know a 40' dognose will get about the same mileage as a 40' FE. That's a lot of air displacement no matter what. You can mentally visualize that the FE will have more interior floor space. The tradeoff is basically personal preference. What works for me may not work for you.

In the US that choice might be personal freedom because everything is oversized. Adding 6 feet hood to the length your bus and giving up 6LX8WX5H on cubic feet for a given length is not a good option in Europe.

A DN might look cool and impressive, be easier to work on and give a little more crash protection. Not sure how they took care of that in Europe? better engines, better driver education ? better roads?
