Found!

1998 International 4x2RE School Bus MD Diesel, 48 seats, 7.3 liter V8, Allison Automatic 271,000 miles $5000. 6'6" headroom. read some things on here that make me a little leary of year and engine. Primary focus is live aboard and boondocking. Staying mostly on flat ground besides a twice a year trip over the pass (4500'). Lady of 63 with 3 dogs. Anyone have one/ had one? Biggest worry I have is getting stuck boondocking. Hope to tow 2009 Chevy Cobalt wheels down.

At this particular time of year with school having just released, there are a whole lot of buses for sale right now at half the price this one is asking. Check the Gov. auctions.

I bought that SAME year/model/spec of bus for $1760. It had BRAND NEW tires on it.
Sold it for 5 grand on CL.

The transmission is the weakest link in that bus. It slips and causes heat that puts a lot of strain on the engine's cooling system. This is especially prevalent at highway speeds.
For the price I'd pass. I'd consider it for $2500 or less.
