free floating Laminate flooring???

planning to lay the flooring down on my subfloor with a thin underlayment for sound absorption. looks like the kind of laminate I bought is made of some kind of compressed sawdust with a plastic surface with a wood grain image on it. building the bed platform and cabinets on top of the flooring so I figure I will screw through the laminate and into the3/4' plywood subfloor below to anchor things down. instructions say to never nail down this kind of flooring.

I'm wondering if anyone has had issues with this kind of flooring buckling or any other kind of problems. of course spills would be mopped up quick but if there was ever a water leak it seems that the floor might absorb the liquid and swell up

thx!
