I have a friend who is considering joining the ranks of the shorty skoolie world. He is looking for a van-chassis type skoolie that he could swap a Cummins turbo into. I think he'd prefer a Ford for the looks, but a GM for accessibility. He's an engineer of sorts, very mechanical. He's got a heck of a quick 71 Plymouth 'cuda...that he's pretty much done all himself. It was worth the 10 year wait to ride in it!
Does anyone know where he could find either a gas shorty or preferably a diesel shorty with a bad motor. He's in central Illinois, and I'm in far western Kansas, but he saw my 65 passenger GMC and the gears started turning! His family isn't nearly the size of mine! Other than Craiglist, floridachurchbus (for reference purposes), ks-bus.com, publicsurplus.com, purplewave.com, and here, I'm out of places to send him to look. Any help would be appreciated.
I don't think he's in a hurry...if history tells me anything, it might be another 10 years before this happens for him. It took him a long time to get his 'cuda running...but it was TOTALLY worth it!
