Got my new IOTA DLS55

I should have bought one of these a long time ago. Its so easy and carefree. I just hooked up Pos and neg. to the battery bank (which happens to be on a pallat in the shop right now) and plugged the little guy in. Away it went, detected the # of cells and imediatly went to charging at the bulk stage for about 20min now its on the absorbtion stage. I think I just my have saved my previously frozen batteries.

Congratulations if you did save those batteries. Having a battery freeze isn't the worst thing in the world and doesn't necessarily condemn it, but they only freeze if they're discharge severely and that usually means they've sulphated. We're probably able to save 1 out of 5 frozen batteries that come in.

If you don't mind my asking, where did you get the unit and how much was it?

I bought on ebay
it has build in IQ4
paid $120 plus $17 shipping.

So far the batts are holding a charge. Im going to bring home the big 300A load tester from work and put a good 100A load on them to simulate the inverter for about 10 min and see where they sit and if they hold up.
