Headlight bezel substitute /adding LED projection headlamps

As I was replacing everything to make the little bus roadworthy again I decided to replace the old incandescent lights with some new LED ones. These are the troubles and solutions that I came up with.

To cut straight to thr chase, when I tried to remove the headlamps, I noticed that the rings and dish were badly rotted away so began my quest for a different ring and bezel that would allow me to install a new pair of LEDS lamps. I purchased the Lamps at Superbright leds.com. 80 watts compaired to 50 watts like the ones on ebay. 169.00 per lamp.. yep.

After a futile search for stock parts that would be expensive and probably wouldn't work with the LEDs I found these new rings for a Harley that look like they would work. I took a chance and bought the stainless ones. Little pricey but hey its my money and I despise rust. I purchased these at Eagal Lights

After removal of the old bezel ring I drew a circle for drilling the bolt holes. I used the outer bezel as a guide so the lamps would be centered. I made a spacer out of coupling nuts 1/4 x20 and stainless machine screws.

Sure- look at the last photo and you can see he wisely kept the adjustment screws.

I did the same on my motorcycle.

I have a Yamaha FJR1300 with 15000 lumens on high beam, instead of the 3200 lumen stock lights.

You really don't want a pissing contest with my high beams

You really won't.

You'll nicely lower your beams, and I'll lower mine. Seriously, on a straight road I'd have half a mile before you were close enough to bother me ... You wouldn't know which lane I was in

On a more serious note, they are excellent for spotting deer.

Yes Dan, You may have to drill a hole for the adjustment screws for clearence. There are three per light instead of the stock two on the international. It was unnecessary on mine because the alignment was almost spot on after installing. I just gave one screw a couple turns to lower the light a bit and make them even. Diving all over Miami this past two weeks with no one flashing their brights at me. Harley lights also light up the ditches better for deer and such. I suggest getting the black ones as I will have to clean and paint these chrome ones. The cheap Chinese chrome is already starting to spot up ... live and learn. Osvo everything.

Oh yeah. The bright setting is awesome. Drove many old potato trucks with incandescent lights. You will appreciate a new set of projectors. Cant out drive these by speeding.
