Heaters How can i be safe when using propane powered heaters

Ok I live in minnesota. I want to work on the interior of my bus during this winter season but not frezze my feet off. My freind has a Torpedo heater and i know that they can start fires very easy. What i want to do is open the back door of the bus and setit on a stand outside of the bus about a foot or two from the back door enterance and let if blow in the heat to try and relive some of the cold. The bus holds the heat well with the dual vapor barrier and 1/4 inch ply wood panels below the window line to the seat rail. It does stay warm with just the bus heat and the doors closed for about 8 hours. BUt i want to be able to work and not have to run the bus at 1200 rpms to heat the engine to heat the bus when sitting there. Any ideas?

Andy,

Other than protecting things from the high heat coming out the end of the blaster the biggy is ventilation, which it looks like you'll have plenty of; those things are not intended for use in enclosed spaces.

If I had my druthers, I'd use an electric space heater or two. This assumes, of course, that you can get power to the bus (use a good heavy duty outdoor power cord). That way you can leave the doors closed and not worry about permanently going to sleep.
