Help!!!

I have bought 3 different type screws on 3 trips to Lowe’s and nothing is going through the roof if the bus. I took off the hatch and am trying to put on sheet metal. I pre drilled it but absolutely none of the screws will go through the roof. What type do I have to use??

Sounds like the wrong size drill bit for the screw in question. I predrill, then use an impact with a #2 square drive bit to drive the screws in.

Am I supposed to drill through the roof of the bus as well?

do you have the drill point screws?
if you have the sharp point and not the drill point then yes you can drill through the roof and use the sharp point screws'
a good drill point screw should have no problems.

Yes, locate your panel and drill one hole through both the patch and the roof, install a screw. Usually start in the middle and work towards the edge. Put a second hole and screw opposite the other and then follow up with the rest. Put down butyl tape or sealer on the patch before securing for final installation

Believe me, building a bus into an RV is a lesson in a million mistakes you'll make and learn from. Keep asking questions here to help alleviate some of those mistakes the rest of us have already made.
