Brooks once told of how he tried to enlist John Wayne for the film.
Duke replied he couldn't risk his wholesome image, but he would sure be first in line to see it.
Me... I'm not so sure.
In the "thug army" recruiting scene, there is a cowboy in the background that looks a lot like him. It is probably not, but the thought is amusing.

Hal, open the underbelly storage bay doors.

I'm sorry Dave, I can't do that.

Glad you got it open. Shoot me a pic of the back side of the locks and I'll find you a replacement. As cheap as they are I'd replace them all with the same key.

Looks like this. They're all filled in - I think they weren't locked, these were just rusted shut. I went around with the WD-40. Thank you!

These are the ones I used. Nice finish, very sturdy and operate smoothly. Fast shipping too.

Get a key made.
See that alpha numeric digit? Bring that to a REAL locksmith and they can cut you a key.
No grinding or cutting, just using the lock as designed.

"The storage compartments under my bus, on the driver side, are locked shut and the locks are welded closed. "

You obviously did not read the first post or you would know the key is not the issue, but the keyhole. For a locksmith to come out and breech the keyhole and cut a new key would probably cost $100, for a $4 lock. The drill, drill bit, and new locks, way cheaper.

o1marc is right. Locksmith is way too $$$
I can attest to finding 'cam-locks' at the big box stores. I found them, and with a little digging thru the inventory, found 4 with the same key #.
good luck.

BTW
Is any one else tired of the short, snoody replies? When I see them (in type) my ears burn, and the blood pressure goes up 10 pts.

Have a nice day ( did I just type that?)

If it wasn't welded you could look in the street for brushes from street sweepers their long thin metal pieces that I polish with a craytext bullet on a dremel & make lock picks out of them. Lock like takes about 20 sec, master locks a little longer but you need to practice to get the feel.

Reread first post, just read like a guy prying open locked compartments. If I did, obviously, miss something, glad a smarter guy caught it.

She said "and the locks are welded closed." I took this at her word. Which is why I didn't first suggest drilling it out. When I got a closer look I agreed, drill it and replace it for less than $5

Agreed. Thank you for catching my misinformed assessment of what they were dealing with.

Love it. I think you win the interweb today.

But I believe the name was an acronym -- HAL, not Hal. I don't remember what the acronym stood for, though.

EDIT TO ADD:
HAL 9000... ... HAL (Heuristically programmed ALgorithmic computer)...
