Re: How Did you attach your passenger seat?

I'd like to know to. I am on the hunt for a captains self contained seat (belt and latch attached to the seat, not wall).

Id love to see more detailed pictures from how SDwarf36 did his.

Re: How Did you attach your passenger seat?

My passenger seat is bolted with 4-3/8 bolts through the floor. It was a little harder to bolt up where my fuel tank was, but do-able. I think it's a law in most all states that the driver and the new passenger seat, have to have seat belts also. Mine are bolted down with 1/2 bolts and large washers on each side. I had thought of using "boat pedestals" but went with full size van swivel pedatals. They are a lot more heavy duty. I think you would get some sway using ones for a boat. The pedestals I got were from a ford van. The rear seat pedestals had the seat belts attatched to the pedestal itself, with no shoulder attatchment. I have seen a couple different newer mini vans with the shoulder attatchment built into the seat and all self contained. I just chose to use lap belts only. good luck

The junk yard is your friend.........I mean Auto Recycler. Our local one gets out of joint when you call it what it is. Went in for an old chevy frame member. He had one and quoted me the price for a new one then discounted that 20 year old greasy part by 25%. Told him to F*** himself and bought it in Utah from a junkyard for $10. I got my seat pedestals w/belts for $15 each.

Re: How Did you attach your passenger seat?

We got two swivel seat off of Freecycle. They came out of an RV. I have seen several seats out of various vans posted for sale, free or barter on CraigsList.
