IIRC the tow rope was only for tying the 2x4s to the car.

It's NC, she's likely right. In theory, if you run a chain thru a pipe, it'll bunch up and prevent the chain from getting under a tire, the card from running into each during braking, etc. It's VERY old school ... like my dad's old school (77 this yr). It's a steel pipe when I've seen it in practice tho.

Is that an Econoline? It looks almost-but-not-quite. I'm a big fan of 1st gen (61-67) Econos, and I've never seen one mount the spare on the outside, or seen the chrome window trim for that matter. Anything's possible.

3rd gen. Generic transportation box appliance. No reason to buy one over the Dodge or vice versa other than brand loyalty.

Just did a Google image search. If I'd been able to see the grille I would have kept my mouth shut. 4wd by the look of it too.

Oh well. One thing the Econo community has always maintained is a perverse pride in the fact that there's almost no collectible market for them. When I was active (up until a few years ago) cherry examples would only bring high $2k - low $3k. I'm guessing that Jeep FC might go for a tad bit more than that.

I like Chevy vans from the 70's to 1996. And Dodges are cool, but not as good as the GM's.
I'm stoked about the lil dogiban I just bought!

I still eventually want a classic Chevy/GMC though.

Dad was a mobile auto mechanic at the time so he knew how to fix stuff prior to the electronic and computer controlled EVERYTHING. His constant bitching about the van left me with a biased against Ford.

My Brother always liked my Land Rover and wanted something exotic to tool around the beltway and haul stuff with, so when i came across this for cheap (unrestored and pretty rough) I fixed it up for him. He loves it and the attention it gets. There weren't many made and they were really bad off road especially the short 150s down hill with no load they would fall on there face! But there so damb cute !

Being a kid in the 80's- Mr. T was my hero!!!! I've always wanted an A-Team van but couldn't live with a black van in reality. Too hot in FL in a black van even for me!
I'll gladly sport the 137 lbs of gold, but I don't quite have that much, so donations are gladly accepted!!!

I liked Murdock (sp) more if we stick to the A Team. MacGyver was the man.

You were a little more weeer than me.

My daughter doesn't like the A Team but she has gone and downloaded a bunch of the MacGyvers. She likes him.

You sir, disappoint me. Simon & Simon; what kind of '80s child are you?

Um, isn't that the exact reason you quote for having the shortie?

the shortie makes a great daily driver.. not sure id want to haul nasty greasy stuff in it though.. a van with a metal floor I could hose out the back...
as for my late 70s and 80s years.. those were spent with International Scouts.. Diesel ones...

Who says your shorty has to have anything other than a steel floor?

Didn't know scouts came with a diesel.

Yeah, the Nissan diesel was an option not too many people ended up buying. They were great. I LOVED my 74 Terra. The 345 in that thing was amazing.
