How should I properly cap unused air lines?

My '04 International RE3000 has multiple air lines that I no longer need (front door, front bumper arm, two side stop signs, etc). What is the PROPER way to cap off these lines?

I see lots of threads stating to do so at the manifold/distribution point, etc, but it never gets into specifics of HOW I should cap them. Is there a specific part that I can purchase to cap lines? I'd like it done properly so I don't have any roadside issues with tanks bleeding when it could have been avoided now.

I second this, I have yet to do this on my bus (luckily I just have the old air door line but it would be nice to cap that off).

very simple procedure to cap an air line.

Best place to do it is at the source, or where the air line begins.
Follow the line you want capped to it source, tank or manifold.
See what size fitting you are dealing with 1/4 or 3/8 fitting ???

If the fitting has a male end then just cap it there. If it is a female then you will have to get a double male nipple and then cap if off right there.
you can get these parts at any hardware store or big box store.

Or...take that air line and put air horns on the bus !!

Trace the air line back to the source tank and use a pipe plug or cap with thread sealer. Then test with soap and water for leaks.

Like others have said, best is to follow the line and cap it at the source. Whether it's the tank or a junction block.

Hah! I don't have any plans either way at this point. First, I want to successfully cap the lines, then I'm sure I'll have the confidence to do whatever I can dream of with it!

I wonder what other fun gadgets I can hook up with extra air lying around!?
