How to convert your bus and save thousands.
He's a great tip for everyone. Go to salvagebid.com. You can buy a RV camper for next to nothing and it has everything you are gonna need for for your bus conversion. They have been totaled out by the insurance companies and cost anywhere from 500 to 1000 dollars. They have rollover, flood or other damage. Tanks, all the lines, toilets, sinks, plumbing, appliances, windows, propane, A/C units, generators, wiring. You gut it and move it into your bus. The A/C units on some of these are a grans a piece. I was looking a thousands and it cost me $800. Add up what you will spend and think about buying a cheap RV.

Craigslist is also a great source for RV stuff including plywood, insulation, flooring, etc.

Cabinet shops do tear-outs and sell the old cabinets very cheap.

That site is a third party sight. Their fees are crazy. A $500 bid will cost you over a thousand total. You are better off finding the actual action and save some of the fees.

Plus you might win the bid and still lose. I was browsing the link, and looked at a cheap International semi tractor, curious about the idea of stripping one for parts. I searched the VIN to see if I could find the engine and transmission information, and found the same exact truck on another site. The bids had gone much higher on the other site than on salvagebid.com.
If there are two winners on different websites, who gets the truck?
And are there more web sites out there with more possible winners for the same item?

Re: How to convert your bus and save thousands.
its a good theory.....
personally, my desire for a bus more substantial than a stick and staple rv, has not saved me thousands.
on a related note....
i do have 2 used waste tanks that i will give to anyone (you pay shipping) that i bought a salvage yard. somehow, i never used them.
