How to find a place to convert your bus.

Hey everyone,
We have not yet purchased a bus, but we are in the research stage.
We rent a home that does not have space for a bus conversion on the property.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? How did you find a place to safely store/ convert your bus that is close to home? Craigslist? Friends?
We live in Louisville, KY
We are really excited to start this project.
Any ideas are welcome.

Out of the box idea. Go to a 24 hour of Lemons race. Talk to people, someone in the community should be able to rent you space.

I had the same issue. I found a couple of ads on Craigslist for RV storage and found a couple of people who are renting out spots on their land. I called and asked if they would be willing to let me work on the bus on weekends. I told them I have my own generator for power and would be respectful of the noise. So now for $50 a month my skoolie sits on a storage lot and I work on it on the weekends.
