My storage bin latches have locks. Presumably the same key that locks the bi-fold door. I guess I should check that some day.

That latch is a pretty common item. You could pick one up from any junk yard where ever you see a bus. If you've got a choice of latches, consider a replacement that locks. I also get remarkably better gas mileage since I put a latch and hasp on the fuel door.

I'll send photos of the bus earrings specifically for your gf, so you can be sure and do the same thing.
I have a lot of trouble with thieving even way out here in the woods. Yeah I know, it's got to be my neighbors. I have motion detectors so I know when they're here. I'm not quite ready to spend the next 20 years in jail for defending my property.

So OR is off the list for sure. I'm used to FL laws. "But Officer he was in my yard and needed shooting". In that case be careful of the surrounding houses, son. Happy hunting.
I don't know for sure but I'm fairly certain that the explosive dye packs can be bought on the internet. I would install those and a camera.

I've got a digital video surveilance system that I haven't used for a few years. I'll have to hook it up and get some proof to make the night time intrusions stop. The problem is the IR lights on security systems are detectable by practiced thieves.
I'm old enough that I wouldn't survive a jail sentence for shooting an intruder. I'd much rather spend these remaining years driving around the country having breakdowns and flats if I ever get this bus ready.
You know, the explosive dye packs would be an excellent choice for the top hatch breaches. I'd get sued for just about anything else.

Out here we have an old fashioned solution. You've seen trees blow down out in the woods leaving a rather large waste deep hole in the ground. When you cut through the log the stump springs back to its growing position. Anything you put in the hole under that stump is there to stay. It's a proper thief burial. The story is that some people are put in the stump hole live, then as they wake up the stump is released.
I tried to be a logger years ago. They said I didn't fit in. At least I didn't get a stump.
