Is this leaning toward kanibalizm? Prepared lots.

Usually we just beat the undesirable traits out of people. It's not considered nice to simply put someone out of their misery. Here we give them one second chance. The offenders get a long ride way out into the woods where they're stripped down to their underwear then beaten with a rubber hose. After that they're left to walk their way out of the woods barefoot and beaten, with the threat of not causing regret for that merciful opportunity of letting them live.

Then again, people here would more often just burn your house down if you were a constant trouble maker in the community. Like rental homes that have a constant stream of temporary residents that often steal.

Mountain justice I guess.

If your thieves are wandering around in the woods with night vision on then why are they messing with your bus? Mine doesn't have anything worth stealing.

If your thieves are a couple of meth heads, no one is going to miss them anyway. If it's the neighborhood HS kids, hike in and shoot the little fukkers with rock salt.

Well Bob, because in the world of reality I don't actually kill people and bury them in the woods. I'd just as soon avoid having that memory stuck in my head.

I haven't (yet) but I don't think I'd lose a lot of sleep over it.

Post a FB video of whomever. Assuming the police won't do something with said video.

Right now I've only got motion detectors placed in certain areas. This isn't a daily occurrence that I can get ready for each night. You don't seem to understand this isn't town. People can walk into your yard from the woods in almost any direction out here. It's not easy to put out a camera where you think they might be coming from.

So, from what you're saying you'd risk spending time in prison just to teach a thief a lesson? The things I've got don't rate prison time in my opinion.

Put the camera IN the bus. Kinda hard to hide from the camera there.

FL law is a little more clear. Inside your home uninvited is lethal force. I'm not buying the entire neighborhood TVs. After the first one walks away, $hit is going to get real.

Here if you shoot someone or otherwise damage them they can sue you for lost wages. Yeah, I know. Lost wages from stealing? Who'd have thought the law would protect the thieves? Even if you shoot someone and kill them, their family can sue you for lost income or they just come after you themselves. There's something wrong with laws like that. So, basically thieves can get on disability if I injure them, and then I get to pay for their recovery.

So if there were thieves coming here at night and if we were having interactions it's not likely that I'd confess things to you that could put me in jail, is it? Not that I've done anything wrong at this point, of course.

I haven't put my cameras back up because the thieves are able to see the IR lights at night. Also this is one individual (me) against several individuals.

MD is equally or even more so retarded.

There was a case of an 82 yr old man that was beaten in his own home by some gang members. They told him they would be back and the next time they would kill him. So, he goes out and buys a gun. Sure enough, they come back. He's retreated to his bedroom, is on the phone with 911, tells them he has a gun, tells them he's called the cops. They come in any way. He shoots one and kills another. The assistant DA wanted to charge him with Murder 1. It wasn't self defense because he could have escaped out of the fire escape. Yeah, right. An 82 yr old man is supposed to jump out a window and outrun a bunch of thugs. Luckily the media got a hold of the story and the Ass't DA had to drop all the charges or never see public office again. These are the kind of idiots that keep getting re-elected in Baltimore. Then they cry "we gotta do something about the crime rate". What, you're surprised there are 340+ murders a year? Roughly one for every day.

There are wheels on this bus, and you're catching on. I haven't been able to prove who is causing me problems over the past ten years. It's always blurry pictures It's not going to end. It was my plan to roll out of here long ago and that hasn't changed.

Things are not quite like I had originally planned. I started out wanting to build a motorhome, but I ended up with a big damn van. Still, things are progressing.

Oregon looks so awesome, and the pot is fantastic. I've been REALLY wanting to visit for quite some time now, its in my places to see list and way up near the top.
But EVERYONE I know out there says that crime and drugs (real drugs, not weed) are rampant and that there's a crazy problem with loonies and homeless everywhere.

My friend lives out there, he can confirm this.

There's been a lot of bad people moving out west for many years where there's more opportunity, and they've brought their drugs with them. It's amazing what drugs people will take.

Go to Alaska because Oregon and Washington have been overrun.

10 yrs? If it was once or twice in 10 yrs ok maybe. Hard to tell from forum ramblings but you make it sound like an annual occurrence or more. If that's the case, I probably would have literally shot someone by now.

Trade that OR dirt for some WA dirt, get that van titled as an RV, and live happily ever after. That said, I need to trade my MD dirt for some WA dirt.

I am selling out here. I just can't figure out how to get rid of all my stuff.

That is a very good idea, to move to WA. I live there when I was a kid and still have a lot of family there. I'm going to guess there will be the same type of drug problems in WA.

So are you flying out here sometime to look at real estate, or just drive out here and then start looking for property? I could possibly help in the real estate aspect. My last position at work was Dept of Revenue, Property Tax Division, Continuing education specialist. I ran the continuing education database for all state registered real estate appraisers in Oregon. Real estate knowledge these days is more about knowing what properties not to get.

For a long time I've been trying to decide where to move. The intention was to move south, but I'm not so sure I could take the heat during the summers. Actually my favorite place was Alaska. That was probably about the best place I've ever lived, but those are some brutal winters.

Rambling? That's certainly possible.

I've heard from an Alaskan buddy that meth and idiots are EVERYWHERE up there, as bad as the mosquitoes.

Over here on the East, we've grown up hearing stories about the crazies out west... that saying "the land of fruits and nuts" comes to mind.

Ramble on, sounds like OP has the latch handled lol.

My favorite place in the US is Colorado. Just amazing scenery and lots of nice folks.

There's gotta be drugs here too. Supposedly a bad problem in the rural counties but I'm blind to it as it hasn't impacted me in any way.

Window shopping really. I have money in a 401 that I could cash out but then what? My plan on winning the lottery isn't going as well as hoped.

Realistically, I'd get a job out there and let whatever company pay for my relocation. Then buy some dirt.

You , sir, can keep the south. I know I don't like the heat. Started in FL, moved to SC, now in MD. Still too damn hot and humid.

What is it with cold weather and meth?

By the same token, I would think CO would be infested too.
