The school guy just replied to me about the delayed pick up. They want it picked up within 10 days of auction close. Today makes 16 days. He said he would definitely work with me and that if I can't get out there this week it will have to be after spring break. I sure don't want to wait that long, end up being a month before I see what I bought.

Ben2go, I am in the aircraft business but I much rather drive then fly.
Good luck J

Well they did the catheter and decided I didn't stents. Why? , because my lower 3 arteries are blocked 99%,60% and 30%, time for bypass surgery instead. Have to send me by ambulance to another hospital in Atl. Definitely not gonna be flying anywhere soon.Getting old really bites.

Well don't this just suck. I got lucky and American Airlines went against policy and will refund my airfare for today as long as they get a letter from the doctor on his letterhead explaining the medical issue. So I go back on line to look for a new flight after spring break and find that by buying that far out saves me another $95, and can get to OKC in 4 hours for $235. Then the doctor comes in starts telling me what my life is going to be like for the next couple of months and it does not include driving , let alone driving a bus 1000 miles 2 weeks after having my chest split open. So at this point I'm willing to let the bus go if they want to refund me or just wait till I'm healthy enough to go retrieve it.

I don't know if you're interested, but the guy I bought my bus from was super nice. He MAY be willing to go check it out, and pick it up for you, and park it at his place for a few weeks until you can get healed.
I know you would rather check the bus out yourself and not trust someone else, but it's a thought.
If you want his contact information, text me and I will relay it to you to ask him if he'd be willing to do it. He's into skoolies and knowledgeable, nice and a straight shooter.
Here's to a speedy and full recovery!

I was going to suggest something similar, if there is someone local who might be able to pick up your bus and let it sit for a little while.

I have a friend near OKC (I lived near there in my teens). I might be able to get him to go pick it up. He used to own a RV the size of our buses so he's familiar with driving something that big. I'm sure he'll need insurance info and such to move it if he agrees. Where are you ultimately delivering the bus to?

Thanks for the offers guys. I was unable to get ahold of the guy at the school today. I'm pretty sure it's not going to be a problem with holding it till I can get there. I also have a good friend in OKC that could pick it up, don't know if he can store it though. Doesn't the buyer have to remove it in person with ID? I spoke with my brother and he said I'll be back on my feet much sooner than they are telling me. He's a physicians assistant and knows his medicine. He research the cardiologist performing the surgery and assured me he is the guy I want. His only downfall is how slow he is due to being absolutely meticulous in his repair. I can live that. When I hear back from the school on Fri.(won't have my phone back till then), I'll follow up where it stands.

I just checked NAPA and they carry 15 different Group 31 batteries from $80- $260, none in the $500 range.

Billings, MT. And there are SEVERAL O'Reilly's in Billings, none of which carry Group 31 batteries.

I don't know if it would be terribly practical but if you get in a bind I can fly down and drive it home for you.

I worked for O'Reilly's. I will stand corrected and say that I posted the inventory for Billings, MO., not for MT. You have 4 O'Reilly Auto Parts stores in Billings, Mt.
1st Avenue has 4 in stock
Grand Ave has 2 in stock
Main Street has 4 in stock
King Ave is the store attached to the warehouse where they have 4 on the shelf and 95 in the warehouse so that no store is ever with a Group 31 battery.

I looked briefly into someone else picking it up for me since I was looking at one near where i knew someone, and I believe you would either need to send an email from the winning address with instructions on who can pick it up, or a letter from you with the person who is picking it up from them with similar instructions, and of course that persons has to have ID as well.
Hopefully you can be back on your feet and feeling better and take care of it yourself, but it doesn't hurt to have a backup plan. If I had to have someone else grab it for me, I'd probably check to see if a local RV storage place would take it for up to a month. Probably be less hassle than finding out if a friend's HOA is going to allow it.

Guy at the school just called and let me know his father had quadruple bypass so is well aware of what I am dealing with and will keep the bus on the lot until I'm well enough to go get it. All is good.
