Keeping the Handicap Door?

So, I have a front Handicap Door so it gives me some options. I'm curious if anyone has turned their Handicap door opening into a fold down porch or something similar. I plan on doing a 12" raise so it would turn into a 6' fold down deck. My floorplan currently has me closing it off and having a table and seat there, but I have a nagging concept about opening it up in nice weather.

Any Thoughts?

The fold-down deck doesn't strike my fancy, but being able to open it up while you dine does. Just my two cents.

I've got a 5 window with the WC door right there. I'm leaving the door. Its nice to have a big opening to get stuff in and out and sure is pleasant with the door open on a nice day.

I saw (on YouTube) where someone created a drawbridge top deck..neat idea and thought about doing that myself (rear WC door) but have not as that is access to my bike storage under the bed. I like the idea though.

Question about the roof raise - how/what do you plan to do about the door...i.e., extending it the 12"?

The WC door will be removed either way and a custom will go in it's place if I keep it. Better insulation.

I'm not raising the main door, but I'll be reframing the whole thing so it has a geared continuous hinge supporting a custom outward opening door.

Since the door and windshield match up in height, I'm playing with the idea of chopping the whole front top and sweeping from the windshield to the main body lift.

I'm at work and don't have my good drawings but here's the idea
