Russell’s Junkyard
Dinwiddie, Va.
I was hoping for Bluebird parts, a seat pedestal in particular, but they all appeared to be Thomas, or some other coach manufacturer. Bummer.
But he does have a bunch.
He does keep the tires when scrapping, and said that the 10-22.5 are hard for him to sell, he has a ton of them. My guess is that he will make a good deal on tires.
The pictures are of the older busses. The majority are newer, just not as interesting to look at.

I was just here a few weeks ago and there were 20+ buses, mostly ICs, waiting to be scrapped out front. They would not sell parts off of them, and they would not specify why.
For the north central/northwest Ohio folks, I stumbled upon a place in Sycamore called Danner's Towing and Recycling that had a bunch of old Ohio buses lying around. A little bit of everything but mostly around 1995-2005. They were closed when I passed by so I have no idea what they are like to deal with.

They might be part of the EPA's DERA rebates. I don't see anything on the site about not allowing them to be parted out, but that would make some sense as parts could really only be used to keep other old diesel-powered school buses running.
Bums me out because I'm trying hard to find a bumper, passenger door and windows for my old diesel, which is going to keep chugging away regardless of whether I find them or not.

Recon Metals in Calgary, Alberta, Canada is a metal scrapyard that deals with school buses. They are willing to sell chunks...ie:motor, axle, tires on the rim...but not parts. You can buy an engine, but not a starter. You will also be charged for the time it takes to cut the part out with a cutting torch. Sold as scrap metal weight. A t444e cost me $500.

I’ve purchased a few parts for my 2006 CE200 from these guys, without any issue and I would highly recommend them (they’ve come through for me when it came to finding a few specific parts I needed) and from where I am, it’s well worth the drive to get the parts I need. However to access the parts for purchase, that is handled by their parts company River Valley Truck Parts ( https://rivervalleytruckparts.com/) and not through River Valley Recycling directly.
(Their website to see their new inventory that comes in: https://rivervalleytruckparts.com/new-arrivals/)

I have not read all 8 pages so if this has been mentioned then forgive me.
Vander Haags truck parts have several locations, and they have a bunch of busses. I have bought many truck parts here over the years. They are probable not the cheapest place but they ae easy to work with.
