Looking to do roof raise on 32-ft. Need heelp

Hi All

Hoping to close deal on 32ft gutted skoolie in next few weeks and want to do roof raise using skoolie.com hat channel extensions. I'm in near, but can travel a reasonable distance (few hundred miles). I want to cut behind the driver's seat and do a slope transition. I can do all the prep, but I'm not a welder.

Anyone know anyone around IL, WI, MI, OH, IA that I can contract? Ideally, they will have done a raise like this before.

Thanks

Mark

Hi. Very impressive. Build. Rochester is not out of the question. How much would it cost and how long would it take.

when cutting hat channels stagger your cuts so they are not in a line that can fold over. this makes a much stronger support for your roof.

Thanks for suggestion. Researched this a ton and am familiar with tat StateFarm, but have also seen suggestions that it actually makes no difference.

Personally I’d think it makes sense.

i drive a truck and hit many birds with my roof. i was concerned when building my transition about this. i welded pieces of 14 gauge in it then used bondo with a fiberglass cap over it.

ask a welder that knows his stuff. staggering your cuts is what they teach. you must be careful of where you search for expert advice. if you are new here this is a dangerous place. i see a lot of stuff that will be a problem down the road. we have too many armchair quarterbacks
