Mattress

Hello all! We are starting our conversion and trying to keep cost down. We are putting in two sets of bunk beds 30"x80'. Looking for ideas to make our own mattress out of foam or if there is a better way let me know. Thanks!

Memory foam mattresses can be cut to any size you like. An electric knife works well.

....guess that would depend where you are as far as suppliers go.

I thought about the same foam....or a mattress(s) from a sleeper in a big rig. Never slept on either, haven't got there yet.

You can take the foam seats. 4 to a bunk. Pull the vinyl off then you can throw a topper on them. Makes a nice firm mattress.

My wife took a queen memory foam mattress top, three inches IIRC, cut in half for two bunk bed mattresses similar in size to your measurements.

You can have my seats...

I bought a memory foam mattress for my bed at home. After having it for a while, I can safely say that's what will be in the bus when she's done.

I found some high-end memory foam mattresses on sale at Costco a while back and snagged enough to do my pull out sofa/sleeper at a deal price.

Don't know about "the Foam Factory" but have concluded that for me, the best sitting/sleeping surface seems to be a fairly high density conventional foam topped with 3-4 inches of memory foam. By itself, the memory product alone has too much yield for my back. Just my personal impression.

I'm sleeping on one of these: Memory Foam Mattress - Twin, full, queen, king size memory beds

Twin XL size with 4" memory foam. It starts out fairly stiff, but using it several months has it very nice. I cannot compare it to other mattresses as I have not tried other memory foam.
