My Skoolie's Gonna be on Cable TV Tonight (Mon)
Hey everyone, I wish I could have been more active on here while I have been finishing up (for now) my bus, but I've been busy as heck getting her done!
I was filmed by crews for the last 3 months of the build and the episode will be on the HGTV network. The show is called "Tiny House, Big Living" and tonights episode will feature The Queen of Peace.
I have no idea if I'll look like a genius or an idiot, but at least I'll be famous, hahaha.
Quick stats on my bus:
1982 Bluebird/International
20" Roof Raise
1200 Watts Solar Power
Rooftop Deck
Custom cabinetry and murphy bed/desk combo
AND LOADS MORE!
Dont judge my work too bad based on the show. A lot of stuff was filmed, "just for show" and so yeah, you know it turned out nicer when all was said and done.
All in all, about 9 months, $20,000 and now I get to live in my bus on a beautiful farm outside Boulder, CO

I had been following you on instagram. I will try and dig through your post history, but I am very curious about how the spray foam went for you. I had originally wanted to, but the ease and cost of going with rigid board insulation is so tempting.

I watched the show tonite...how cool is that.
I've been rubbing elbows with celebrities.
It was great to see (kind of in person) what I've only seen pictures of.
I loved the 68"/86" mixup. You were extra lucky that it happened like it did & you were able to go with the flow on it.

sure am gonna miss them guys, since I dropped Dishnetwork and went to free air, I've been one of their regulars.
I'd rather watch reruns of Two and a Half Men than an evening of commercials!

HAHA that's right EastCoast...it's really silly right now! People have been doing this forever
My bus is waaay more inspired by the housetrucks from the 60's-80's. I like to think of it as a housebus. I dont care much for the term 'skoolie' but Ive adopted it's use and i like all the people and ideas associated with it that way. Its just...the 'k' really kills me haha
The episode turned out much better than i expected, I dont look nearly as dumb and I feel like they showed more of the construction than in other episodes where people hire contractors for most of the work.

Fantastic! Thank you for being the guy that was filmed. It could have been worse if they filmed some guy that couldn't finish the project or messed it up somehow. We are all proud that you represented us. It took guts and the end result is a film that gives people some idea of what we are doing here.
