Need door side defroster?

Hi folks,
My old girl, “BLUNDER-BUS” had 7 big fans to move air. I only kept the 3 next to drivers seat. Will that provide enough defrost, or should I rig up one of the blower fans on the door side?
Thanks.

Filling in your information would help us determine where you live, the climate understood then we can comment on defrosters. You would want all the defrost you can get on those big windows.

donwynne,

Freddy D was built for Central Florida & came stock without a door defroster or any floor heaters.

The three vents were tied to each other with a Y-connector.

There is, btw, a factory installed hole there. Terrific for additional road noise, drafts & varmints. Not great for our needs.

Many buses are built on IC Chassis. Worth addressing if you expose the area.

(I used upcycled wall steel)

In my opinion you don’t tear out any of the front heaters and defrosters .. I use my door heater all the time even when I don’t need the defrost. It keeps the cold air from the door area warm.. if you need storage that bad keep less stuff or buy a bigger bus
