Need Help understanding a short skoolie better

The Wife and I are in the process of looking for a bus to convert and live full time, we have been looking at some smaller short buses instead of a longer bus just in case we want to drive in the city or get into lesser used camp grounds. We both love snowboarding and just hanging out in the Rockies but thanks to this form I have read that some transmissions aren't the best for steep grades mostly I-70 threw Colorado, so my question is should I worry as much as I'm or are most newer Buses (2003-2015) better suited for mountains than previous generations? Currently, we are looking at a 2004 Chevrolet Microbird 5-window 150,000 Miles with a Chevrolet 6.0 Liter Vortec V8.

TLDR: Is a 2004 Chevrolet Microbird 5-window 150,000 Miles with a Chevrolet 6.0 Liter Vortec V8 good in the mountains?

Its going to be pretty decent compared to a full size in terms of driving. Its basically a van with a little bigger rear body. The 6.0 gm gas engine is really a great engine. I've pulled many a load with a 6.0 in a work truck with over 200k on it.

Welcome to the site.
As ECCB stated, the 6.0 is one of GM's best workhorse engines.

I prefer the van bodied busses, but there is a space sacrifice inside over the full sized busses.
You can't add interior space once you buy a shortie, but if you can live a$$hole to elbow with someone in a small enclosed space, it could work?
