Re: New Skoolie here... 1995 Thomas 12row rear Engine

this is what we did this weekend and I'm EXTREMELY satisfied with the Rub / Squeak results...

Method and Materials...

Rubber Floor Out (Smell Gone) - 1/2" Foam Board down and Aluminum Taped, 1/2" Plywood down and screwed in with 2 1/2" Self Tapping screws, Solid Bamboo Floors glued down with Tile Glue... Do Not... waste your money on "Bamboo Glue".

All Plywood was gaped 1/8" between sheets and 1/4" from the walls and wheel wells to eliminate the possibility of squeaking later on! All Gaps were then filled in with Tile Glue as we lay the Bamboo floor down. Bamboo planks were also gaped 1/4" from any metal.

Driving around we had no Squeaks (Woo Hoo) and No Movement...

Warning: When using tile glue prepare for extreme stickiness everywhere and all over every tool no matter how careful you are! It's aggravating but just part of it!

Re: New Skoolie here... 1995 Thomas 12row rear Engine

I used my torch removing some stuff on the bus... and the plasma cutter... Prefer the propane one if i am cutting up cars...
Speaking of fire extinguishers, I have 7 in my bus.. One in each room where there is a propane appliance, and one close to the generator, one in engine bay, and one on each side of compartments.. Just hung up three last week, and am putting my semi fire extinguisher sign on the drivers side front compartment.
I have many class c ones as i work on heavy equipment and the ones for resale almost always come with one, (so i keep those) and i am required to have them in my handicapped apartments...
Over the last 50 years, i have had a few shop and a couple of equipment fires, and a spray hose near, and/or fire extingisher has saved everything that ever had a fire.

For those who have busses, it is a good idea to at least have one near the front and the rear of the bus...
Just a few thoughts...

It was pretty much the same until we covered the Windows with Brown Paper... then it cooled better but not like an RV Unit...

portable a/c units arent the greatest in the world. my sister has one in her tiny apartment and it only cools about half as much as a small window unit.. not to mention it takes up way more space..

I would agree more today than I would last week. I thought they would provide more cooling than that. I have one that needs some Tech support - not working right. I might just put it up for sale!

Roger that... I'm going to get some Skateboard Grip Tape and gonna see if there's anyone out there with a Plotter Machine that can cut me out a design. The Luckenbach, TX sign which will just be a Slanted "Luckenbach"... Since I'm going to have a Texas Hill Country theme.

That is impressive! What did it cost per sq/ft? What is the "R" value? That sure looks like the way to insulate! BTW, will it stick to the roof? Thanks

I marked where to cut if I want to... but the insulation inside the engine area covers it anyway. So not sure if I'd ever need to... but I know where to get to it if so.

I took another look and they seal it all up anyway. It's all factory sealed - there's plenty of room to work on the Valves if need be. So I'll not need the access from what I'm seeing.

Got the Beard board going up... I will "Antique" it later once I find the best method. It's just tacked up right now - the trim work will take the waves and bumps out shortly!

Trim up... Kitchen Sink in... also got 25% of the side body sanded down for Primer. Coming along slowly but surely. Certainly a labor of love!
