Noisy question
My Gillig has the Cummins 220 laying on it's side right under the middle of the bus. This gives it a wonderful center of gravity but it is NOISY! We are hesitant to put in an insulated false floor as we need access through the floor panels to the engine and tranny and didn't want to loose headroom if we can avoid it. We were thinking of putting up an insulated bulkhead with a door to give us a quiet "cockpit" for driving. The back can be as noisy as it wants since we won't be back there while moving. The drawback is that we commit the front portion of the bus to the "cockpit" and really can't use it for living area.
