Painting Spray-foam?
I read someone's comment in a bus post on Instagram that the person better paint/seal their spray-foam before they install the ceiling otherwise the little dust from the trimmed surfaces will forever be raining down through the cracks and crevices. I read it as 40% -"this has happened to me" , mixed with 60% -fear/conspiracy. The 40% side made me wonder if painting really could prevent some fallout, or even off-gassing. Anyone heard or experienced issue?

coming from a professional painter, paint might help prevent what little insulation dust there might be - i doubt it would help with the off gassing - paint does not stop hydraulic pressure that's trying to push it off the surface - gas, air, water can all be classed the same - if I wanted to seal off spray foam I'd dilute Bond Fast glue at 2 gals of water to one gal of glue - makes an excellent sealer on a variety of surfaces including foam, stucco, and concrete and it's many times less costly than paint primer - it also works slick as a sealer when you don't want a clear coat to darken wood - the dilute Bond Fast seals the wood and prevents the clear coat from changing the colour of the wood

Thanks for the good tip! If the weather hadn't turned, I might be inclined to spray a coat but I think I may forgo it now. I vacuumed the surfaces well. I might use that as a sealer on the back of my t&g ceiling material though. Is Bond Fast the typical white all-purpose glue?

Solvent based stuff might dissolve your foam. Make sure whatever you use won’t eat it.

I have used spray foam to fill the rotting rocker panels on an old pick up. It keeps expanding for years, cracking my rattle can paint job and showing cracks. I would watch where you use it where it's exposed to searching eyes.

Take a shop vac, hook the hose to the exit side, and blow all the dust off.
