Really big auto transmissions

I think this is the series of trans in that big coach I bumped back to the top.

They can only handle 2700 ft pounds of torque.

They can be found in big heavy powerful units like fire trucks, ect.

What was the weight of that coach -- didn't the thread call it out a little over 40,000? This transmission is almost 6% of that vehicle's weight! (and that's not including the transmission oil..)

Yup 3920 pounds of coach.

Nothing like a transmission that weighs over 2420 pounds.

Now we know why they need a tag axle.
