Rebuilding Wheel Wells

Hey all-

I sure don't like rust. I mean there was no way for me to know how much was there. It was all hidden by chairs, rubber mats, and sub-floor. Now that all of those things have been removed I can see just how far gone she was before I got her. 'She' being defined as the wheel wells.
The passenger side one I had to rebuild part of and still need to rebuild the 'rib' in the wall it anchors too.
The drivers side one needs a little help connecting to the floor in the front again. Oh and the thing it anchors to underneath the bus needs a lot of work.

How many of y'all have had this experience?
Did you have to rebuild the whole thing or part?

I'm just curious.
T.

Some have lopped the tops off to lower and give a flat surface to build from. Some have rebuilt using flat sheet and replace the whole well.

Check out my build thread starting here. I had to rebuild the entire section of floor around the wheel wells. Ironically, the wheel wells themselves were the only thing left intact at the start of it all.
