Re: Regulations/legal issues with installations in Ontario

welcome , well you need a water supply, it can be a jug with a pump faucet that drains into a sink that drains into a bucket.
you need a separate electric, I would put a rv converter system, cheap and you get 12volts/120volts
Im not sure of if a composter toilet would be ok, you can use a portable tyoe that has its own water Im not a fan of little box toilets
and u can use a plug in fridge, and electric heat.
you also need paint the outside, also have you looked into insurance?
where abouts are you? Im in northwestern Ontario

Re: Regulations/legal issues with installations in Ontario

google rv conversion requirements Ontario I cant copy the link for it
"motorhome" means:
a motor vehicle that is used for personal purposes as a temporary or permanent residence and contains at least four of the following items:
Cooking facilities, a refrigerator or an ice box, a self-contained toilet, a heating or air conditioning system, an independent electrical power supply or an independent gas supply or a potable water supply system with faucet and sink.

for insurance I had to get my propane inspected, then I had to get an appraisal done, I also needed a safety check, then I could get my insurance.
when I bought the bus it came with a safety, I went right over to mto and transferred it into my name, and they registered it as a motorhome , no on looked at it, and it still had all the seats in it, they said that I had to have the colour changed within 60 days.

I would only install a woodstove after the inspection.

I would also hold off on the wood stove till you are all legal , then but one in , not sure how insurance company would like it
as for taking out the ceiling and walls, both have been done , I gutted my walls and reinsulated them. I left the roof the way it was, lot of work to remove .

they might be sticky about the toilet. I know SK does not consider a portable toilet a toilet in an RV lol.
