Removed Heaters what is this wire
I removed the heater from my 2001 Bluebird ArE and there is an wire that I can't identify.
Can anyone tell me what it is? It runs from the front next to the driver to pipes in the rear. And there is 2 pictures attached. [emoji51]

Looks like its probably for the coolant boost pump that's used to help circulate the coolant for the heaters to function at their best

What would happen if the wires got cut? Will I still have defrosters?

Did you keep the from heater for the defroster? I'd keep the coolant boost pump if you did to help the coolant get pushed to the front. You can always cut it, do your floor etc then just hook it up later. I removed my coolant lines and wiring for the boost pump and plan on installing them under the bus when I get some time. I removed the two middle heaters but kept the front

You'll still have some coolant flow to the front with out the boost pump (my pump wasn't working) but it wouldn't be as efficient.

I wouldn't worry about cutting it. It's easy to replace later on down the road. One end goes to the switch on the dash the other goes to the pump.

That is great news because I was planning on redoing the switches on the dashes anyways. Plus running the hoses under the bus sounds a whole lot better.

I thought I had a picture of the end connected at the pump but can't find it on my phone. I want to go underneath to eliminate a leak inside and also ease of future maintenance. But many seem to also leave them inside.

I haven't seen the pump myself either. My picture was from the inside after removing the heaters, hoses and hose shields.

Mines on the left side just below the air filter housing. I'll get a picture of it tomorrow. I have a Thomas though so it may be in a different spot on yours.

Maybe not because our heater and hoses ran down drivers sides

Here's a pic of my boost pump. A member here sent me a replacement as mine doesn't work but still need to install it.

Trace that wire back to where it plugs into, cause that sir looks like a ground wire.

Alright guys thank you I'm going to go with just cutting the wires and I'm going to splice them back later on after I run the hoses underneath the bus. But just once again I need the hoses for the front defroster for the windshield?

If you want to utilize the original heater/defroster you'll need those lines to run coolant to the front. I think I've read of some people using electric defrosters but can't really recall. Using the one that's there is probably the best bet.
