Me too. Just enough to stop a rock from a child or the occasional thrown beer bottle.

The question is where do you store a rigid windshield size panel?

Rollladen are metal slats that roll up into a covered housing. If you welded a channel down the left and right sides of the windshield that would cover the edges of the rollladen it would make it a LOT harder to pry them off. You would need something along the bottom to lock also, and it couldnt interfere with the windshield wipers OR perhaps you'd have to remove them before rolling them down?

They are very common in Germany on houses. They sell them in the us also usually as hurricane roll up shutters I think?

They are expensive but last forever on houses. No idea about a bus....

Honestly I'm not familiar with the OP's windshield. Mine is curved pretty hard.

If I go somewhere where they're throwing beer bottles I'll need protection for the back windows, not the front. I don't need to tough out a bad neighborhood.
