Rookie Pondering Skoolie World!

Just one question and if it is in the wrong category, please direct me to the correct one... Insurance & how to reclassify as a Class A or van or whatever???
A simple DMV visit? Some sort of regulations or changes to the bus??
Any assistance dearly appreciated..

A Google search is your friend. Lots of info already on the site.

Cliff Notes ... It depends on the state. Some require you to make a bunch of changes from a list they have. Some require you sign an affidavit to that effect. Few, if any, actually walk out to check but they might check the VIN# if you buy the bus out of state.

Title you want is "RV" or "Motorhome".

In NC I am insured, registered and all as a bus for private use and even though fully converted it is cheaper insurance and tax wise to stay a bus.
My insurance and vehicle tax will actually increase if I change to an RV/motor home because of the age of the vehicle itself? Don't make any sense? Could be they are scared of older stick built motor home problems of malfunctioning gas fired equipment, old wiring, old tanks, piping, pumps ETC...?

I am insured with progressive in South Carolina with commercial policy for $45.00/month as a bus. RV policy is higher. And am sailing with a farm tag.
