Re: Rope lighting
LED rope lights are best. They use less electricity and they are brighter than to other types. They also do not burn out.

Re: Rope lighting
I love my rope lighting! I use it most of the time, even though I have other lights to choose from. Mine is incandescent, but it is not hot to the touch. The lighting is fairly dim, but that is exactly how I want it. If I want brighter lighting I just turn on other lights. Usually if I'm hanging out in the bus, it is night-time, and I'm just chillin', or on the computer, so all I want is a spotlight on my table, and mellow lighting everywhere else. I recently came across a bunch of rope lighting, maybe 50' of the stuff, at a garage sale which I got for basically free, and am looking forward to using that outdoors when hanging out at night. I'll just string it up on my awning/easy-up or on the side of the bus, or wherever.

Re: Rope lighting
Somewhere, what is that thing? Why is it pink? And bedazzeled. And pink. Looks like a corner sink. But.... Did I mention pink?
WHY IS IT PINK?

Last time I checked, Bontragers was not online. Most places do not carry the cabinet locks in anything except the brass finish. I do not want brass. Also, I think the trip from NM to IN and then back along with loss of income would cost me far more than I would save.

Fairy lights (those little Christmas lights) are great to for general lighting. We are using a string of flea market C7 Christmas lights until I get the ceiling lights bought and installed.

Funny, that's what David said. So after months of looking and bouncing ideas off him, he finally decided that, for our needs, they are worth the investment. They double as a cabinet knob and a lock. We can see at a glance if the cabinets are locked or not. Besides, they drop down to $18.50 if you buy more than 5! If I buy the knobs 10 at one time ($185.00) shipping will be $13.95 for a total of $198.95... works out to $19.895 each. If I buy 5 at one time ($92.50) shipping will be $9.95 and total is $102.45... works out to $20.49. I've skimped everywhere else (almost... still sticking with my VCT "stained glass" floor) so I'm holding firm on this.... and the Maytag washer.. new... no center agitator and really low water use. I'll get the LP dry used most likely.
All that Southco hardware is expensive.

Yeah, I hate overspending for stuff, but there are times you have to put a value on your time. I can spend hours researching a "better"(cheaper) option, and then suddenly realize how pointless it is. I have come to the conclusion also that sometimes(often) it's worth it to spend more. Like my Xantrex inverter and controller
