So while I'm mechanically handy, actually building the stuff inside for a conversion is really more than I want to do. My idea is to do this :
http://www.skoolie.net/gallery2/v/Skooli ... 8.jpg.html and mount a ready made RV trailer in the rear space. Why do this instead of just buying an RV? I could still remove the camper and use it for hauling other stuff (I'm more of a car guy). I would paint the cab white to match most trailers.
With an RV trailer everything is self contained. Sure may cost a bit more but in the end I think it would be a project I could actually complete and use. Of course I would remove the axles and springs, but not sure if I could get away with removing the trailer frame.
Another idea would be to convert for tow trucks or for industrial use (construction materials, etc) but not even sure if this would be lucrative. Also, can anyone answer for me if I would need a CDL for my RV conversion idea? Or I guess that would define if it's registered as an RV or Bus?
I'm not well versed in either bus conversions or trailers other than what I've read on the internet. Your constructive comments would be welcome.
thanks
