Seat Belts

I was wondering if seat belts are needed in a bus? I would really prefer not to have seat belts, but if i have to i will put them in.

Re: Seat Belts

From the research I have done every state is different. I am not sure what state you are in but I would check the laws there first. I also am not sure if you plan to travel but either way I would put seat belts in it.

Re: Seat Belts

here in ontario canada , you need to have as many seat belts as the rv s;eeps, ie mine sleeps 4 people i have 4 seat belts, when I had it registerd no one looked at it anyway, but if you did get pulled over by the cops, you would a fine. Seems a bit odd , my bus came with all the seats in it and was able to hold 70 kids, and only the driver had a seat belt, and thats legal.

put seat belts in but also make sure everthing else is tied down when driving, nothing like a microwave oven flying around at 60 miles anhour

Even an empty plastic trash can will scare the pee out of you in a panic stop

Re: Seat Belts

About a year ago we took the bus over to a friends for the weekend... I was still taking the galley and other cabinets in and out of the bus to weld on or rework something... Well,I forgot to screw the galley back down... Nothing scares the **** out of you like a galley flying around the inside of the bus at 50 mph...

If you've seen how I built it, it really puts things into perspective...

As far as belts, better safe than sorry...
