I saw regular at 1.79 at a station and diesel 2.75 one place.. average seems to be 189 for regular and 2.89 for diesel here

Per AAA, Georgia is 18th cheapest for gas, 29th cheapest for diesel.

dollar a gallon difference, makes my cost per mile slightly better then a diesel. This is assuming 10 mpg diesel and 7 mpg gas. Gas around here is running 1.97, diesel generally 80 cents more.

I ran my 392 this summer and got 7.5 or so on average at 55 mph. My DEV bus which is a diesel and similar weight would get close to 10 on its old transmission at 55. Makes a good case and one of the reasons some of the schools are going back to gasoline busses brand new.. that and diesel emissions failures . The new VVT gas engines get the same or better MPG than diesel and are close on torque now..
If my superior wasn’t a classic I’m restoring I’d be inclined to swap a VVT engine in it to see what I could do with it..
In contrast though the GMC gas engines of old were terrible MOG at often 3.5 to 4. Even the 345 IH seemed to work too hard and get worse than the 392

And this is what I pay behind the Orange Curtain: Orange County Gas Prices - Find Cheap Diesel Prices in California It's all well and good looking at the cheapest prices in your area, but the only gas stations that I can get my bus into and out are usually the most expensive! I'm now paying $3.70-ish at Chevron, the only place near here that I can get a 40-foot bus into.

Local Walmart has diesel at $2.349/gallon with unleaded gas at $1.889/gallon. This store is fairly competitive. [Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex]

Running about $2.15 for gas and $3.00 for diesel here in Indianapolis. (it can fluctuate up or down 25c/gal just depending on where you are in Indy!)
Flying J on the south side is generally a bit less expensive than average for gas, but quite a bit more expensive for diesel. Its really incredible....

Texas has great prices
Agreed with Native, DFW area has diesel for 2.35 right now.
Finished up a 2,000 mile road trip last month. Diesel prices were noticeably lower as soon as I crossed the state line into Texas.
Paid anywhere from $3.25/gal outside of Vail, CO, to $2.30/gal outside of Amarillo, TX.

Truck stops are almost always going to be higher because they get truckers to come in for their amenities. I've saved 25 cents per gallon just going around the corner from a Pilot.
