Re: Small AC off of chassis batteries?

why dont you just run a generator to supply power?, I have a 8000 btu portable a/c works good to cool the front of the bus, and a 5000 btu in the rear to cool it off, I have 5000 watt gen, dont have it mounted on the bus yet, but I have used it for shore power, hope to have mounted in the bus soon.

I also wanted a diesel generator, but finally realized that it is just not cost effective. The smallest one they make is at least 5000 watts, which is almost double what I need, and the price is three or four times that of a gas generator. Whatever fuel efficiency diesel has over gas is counteracted by the unnecessarily large size of the engine. The only advantage I can see is not having to carry gasoline on board.

with the amount of room under the hood and the dash space would it be easier to get a car AC kit and hook it up. and aftermarket thing?

I know, 5K won't do much. That's why I'll hang a curtain behind the first row. I may just have to suck it up... at least it's a dry heat... and that really does make a difference. Still wondering if it is possible though. What do you think?
my oven is a dry heat!! and Im not found of sitting in it , thats why I have 2 a/c
