Stuck in Coatesville Pa, HELP PLEASE😘😘😘

Good day everyone! I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I have a 2000 gmc 3500 Short skoolie, 6.5 Allison Turbo diesel, 104,000 miles. I am leaking oil somewhere and there is a noise I can’t live with. A mechanic told me it’s my “pollution belt” and that I should have it cut to make the noise go away. I REALLY NEED A REAL MECHANIC NEAR HERE. I am in coatesville Pennsylvania about an hour from Philadelphia.

They are 36 miles from you in Chester which is not good. They might be able to recommend somebody closer to you.

I've never heard of a "pollution belt" but perhaps there is such a thing.

Maybe runs the pump that lubes the muffler bearings with break fluid.


At first I thought "smog pump": the one that pumps air into the exhaust system to finish burning the unburnt fuel. But then I saw the year of the vehicle. I think they had moved on to better tech by then. Maybe I'm wrong.


EDIT: if it is the latter, it is likely a felony to disable it.
