Synchronizing windshield wipers
When you have two separate windshield wipers motors, they do not go at the same speed. After several cycles, one wiper may be going left while the other is starting to go right. This can be distracting and annoying.
Both wipers can be made to start together every time, and stay in sync.
Use an intermittent windshield control to turn on both wipers simultaneously. The wipers will start together, and minor speed differences won’t matter during one cycle. At the end of the cycle, the wipers come to park and stay there until the next cycle, one arriving before the other by a small amount.
After both wipers are parked, the intermittent wiper control makes them start simultaneously again, in sync. The pattern repeats itself over and over.
Set the delay time on the control to allow both wipers to reach park before the next cycle begins. This may vary with conditions such as the amount of snow and rain. If you mark your knob you will be able to set it right the first time.
