First off, it would be a 7.3L diesel and not a 7.1L diesel. I'm guessing that's an IDI (indirect injection) motor. Not bad, but no turbo and not a huge amount of power. Very few miles, though. Personally, I'd say that $3000 from a private party is a little high. $2000 is in the ballpark of "the right price."

That's just my 1/50th of a dollar.
