Timeline for raising a roof

I have read some really good descriptions and seen some really good videos about how to raise a Skoolie's roof. If I do this, I am going to want to cover up some windows, "merge" some windows together, i.e. install one window where two or three used to be, and possibly change the size of the remaining windows. When should this be done? After the frame is cut and the jacks have lifted the roof? Before the steel extensions are inserted?

This would be my order: raise the roof first. Weld in the extensions to all original posts that will remain from your planned mods. reinforce where needed i.e. new posts were none were before due to new window layout. Carefully consider any compromises you are making to the structure, as in removing more that one post in a row, you may want reinforcing for such a long gap.
