Toe Kick Drawers

Not sure if I saw it here or maybe Pinterest, but somewhere I saw where instead of wasting the toe kick area under kitchen cabinets they built pullout drawers that added to their kitchen storage area. Any idea how they built them?

When I built cabinets in my shop, I just used 2×4's for toe kicks. Same thing when I was remodeling our house and built a shoe closet. I just used 2×4's for the toe kick and topped it with plywood, built a cabinet with shelves over it and added two doors. There was no way to build a storage drawer into those toe kicks.

I would expect you would just make a face frame for that level just like for the regular cabinets. Add a drawer with a couple slides and it's done. The main supports for the rest of the cabinet and drawers would have to be in the side panels and the face frame. My trailer uses the toe kick area by adding a drawer front that just hinges open and no drawer, you just slide stuff in directly on the floor. We put low use stuff in there.
