Too Much Rust?

Hi everyone!

So the husband and I have been looking at buses for ages now, and we finally found a maybe! Super excited! We won't be able to view it in person before buying though, and some of the interior pictures are making me nervous. It looks like there's some rust on the floor. So what do you guys think? Too much rust? Should we pass on it? Any opinions/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

That definitely looks to have the potential for a lot of floor rust. Is this a Thomas C2 from New York? Any other pics?

It's a 2012 C2 from Ohio. Those are the only pics showing the floor, but here are a few of the outside. Really torn on it. It looks so good otherwise!

That's a nice looking bus what with it's squarish lines and all. What engine/tranny does it have? How many miles/hours? Can you get the seller to send you some pics of the under carriage?

Neat! Fingers crossed for you! The skoolie.net gurus have talked me out of several buses so far. I’m always disappointed, but it is true, there will be another bus.

Big difference between great lakes Ohio and KY border Ohio...

You need to POKE around the bottom of the bus to see if the rust is heavy or surface rust.

The disparity between how nice the outside looks and that floor inside is pretty large. The inside has clearly gotten regularly soaked; you can see rust on almost everything at floor level (especially on the wheelchair lift).

I would pass on this bus, as much because it's a 2012 as anything else. A bus this new can still legally carry children in any state, so you'll have more bidding competition.

Also, this may not be relevant to you, but raising the roof on a C2 is difficult because of the inward-slope of the walls starting below the windows. This also limits your interior space a bit, especially with airplane-style storage compartments.
