Typical thickness of side insulation

hey guys

I am collecting parts for the insualting of the side of the bus. I am planning on taking the inside skin of the interior off and filling the void then placing furring stripps to put a some kind of wall covering later on. I know people want to go as thick as possible but dont want to buy something too thick and have to end up trimming it off when we get to the furring strips.

I have found some 1.5 inch poly iso on craigslist http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/mat/2446006850.html

Let me know what you think on this if you would please. There are other choices in price and thickness out there.

As you can see they have some 3' stuff but I think its going to be too thick in most cases. I was thinking the 1.5" would be a little more ideal so you can stack them if needed?
